We are seeking a Textile Development Specialist for an advanced manufacturer of high-performance narrow fabrics.  This is an extremely rewarding career opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to the development and improvement of textile products that are used in a multitude of critical applications by first responders, NASA, the US Military, medical workers, etc.

The Textile Development Specialist will be a key player in the research, design, and development of high-performance specialty textiles. This person will collaborate with customers, as well as fiber and other raw material manufacturers, to identify new and marketable opportunities for textile products.

Location: Williamsport, PA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects, from concept to completion, to create new and advanced products through collaboration with marketing, sales, and operations.
  • Responsible for the design of products that meet quality, technical performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Communicate directly with raw material manufactures to support new product development through identification of materials, finishes, or processes required, along with research and testing of new technologies.
  • Collaboratively lead current project development meetings to provide status updates, challenges, obstacles, and new product development opportunities.
  • Communicate with raw material suppliers and internal purchasing and planning departments to identify yarns, finishes, or processes required for new product development.
  • Identify key product needs and assist in the creation of new product prototypes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Design, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in textile design
  • Knowledgeable in design and construction of textile, fabrics, and materials
  • Understanding of weaving, textiles, and fabric performance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Creative and innovative mindset

Travel Required: Minimal - As needed

Relocation Allowance: Yes
