Director of Contract Management

Industry Segment: Industrial Machinery - Power Generation

The Director of Commercial Contract Management is responsible for leading our client’s commercial department and working closely with Account Management, Sales and Project Management to align the strategy regarding risk mitigation during offer and project execution phases.

The commercial department is responsible for the preparation and review of contracts and other contract relevant documents such as insurance certificates, bonds, and letters of credit.  In alignment with Project Management, this position will oversee, prepare and mitigate claims with customers and lead dispute resolution procedures while interfacing with the legal team as necessary.  This position also supports the Sourcing team with supplier claims/disputes.

Location: Central PA

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for contractual activities and processes during the project offer and execution phases, while ensuring that our client’s interests are safeguarded.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Commercial/Contract Management Team.
  • Ensure that risk management processes are implemented and followed.
  • Supervise regional claims, dispute management, and lead the team to successful settlements.
  • Active collaboration with the management team.
  • Collaborate with company’s internal functions such as legal, treasury and insurance departments.
  • Provide support regarding the interpretation of contractual documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, legal, or relevant field of study.
  • Experience in hydro or other Power Generation field is preferred.
  • 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of risk identification and mitigation in hydro power generation or similar industry and the ability to assess contract risks and opportunities.
  • Experience in claim and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proactive personality.
  • Team Player.
  • Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is an asset.
