Industry Segment: Machining & Tooling

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in Velencia, CA.  This position is responsible for the manufacturing of specialized cutting tools used in the aerospace and other industries.  This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with 3 or more years of experience with CNC programming and overseeing the manufacturing processes of machined parts.  Additionally, this person will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

Location: Valencia, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing and CNC programming for cutting tool grinders.
  • Create/edit/maintain engineering documentation.
  • Evaluate, create and draft plans for manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Assist and/or lead Continuous Improvement initiatives such as cycle time optimization and Setup time reduction.
  • Devise and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Help with the creation of new products, work processes, and any other manufacturing needs.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors.
  • Educate, train, and supervise new employees on current manufacturing and workflow processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of tooling manufacturing experience required.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool grinder programming and processes (Numroto and Tool Studio) required.
  • Prior exposure to process development, documentation and implementation.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is important.
  • Familiarity with increasing machine efficiencies.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with Six sigma problem solving tools (i.e. DMAIC) is desirable.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and familiar with root cause analysis techniques.
