Sales Director – Marine Propulsion
Industry Segment: Marine
We are seeking a sales director with marine propulsion system experience to develop, direct & coordinate customer-facing activities for our client’s marine sub-division; which includes original equipment and after-market services. This person reports directly to the company President and will lead & coordinate customer facing activities, advise the international sales team, and set framework for sales activities.
Location: York, PA - Potential for Remote
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate customer facing activities, including Aftermarket Business, to achieve Marine Division goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers.
- Train and manage sales representatives in the Marine Division.
- Define & implement a profitable growth strategy for Marine Division.
- Actively track and report on the progress of the business plan using agreed KPI’s.
- Manage and motivate a functional Marine Division across Business Units.
- Provide guidance to an international sales team.
- Manage talent and succession planning; identify and coach high potentials.
- Identify opportunities to add more value for products and services in the sub-region.
- Drive Aftermarket Business excellence in the sub-region to meet the needs of our client’s customers and support the profitability of their Marine Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience managing sales projects within the marine industry is required.
- 3+ years’ experience working with propeller systems preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate as necessary.
- Analytical problem solver.
Travel Required: 50 - 75%
