Industry Segment: Industrial Equipment
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to drive new business and be the primary customer interface for promoting our client’s Universal Joint Shafts (UJS) product line in North America. This position provides technical as well as commercial sales support and product selection, product pricing, and quotation support for our client’s UJS industry products used in various industrial mechanical power transmission applications. This position requires a solid understanding of primary mechanical power transmission engineering design and application knowledge for electro-mechanical drive systems. Experience in the rotating equipment field for Mechanical Power Transmission is required. Although the primary responsibility of this position is to sell universal joint shaft couplings (UJS), a secondary focus will be on torque limiting couplings and other products as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain new and existing customers (End-users, OEM’s, Consultants & Distributor)
- Analyze customers’ technical specifications for drive components in industrial drive applications
- Make initial product selections which meet the customer drive specifications using appropriate selection and pricing tools
- Communicate with application engineering team and global product sales support team in Europe as required to confirm selections, generate pricing & quotes (price indication quotes as well as detailed firm quotes)
- Provide engineering support, technical and product presentations
- Establish and review agreed targets for the product line
- Provide sales and marketing information as required; develop business plans, sales plans and forecasts
- Support the growth plan for Coupling Technologies sales including: U Joint Shafts, Highly Flexible Couplings, Safeset Torque Limiting Devices, and OnCare digital products
- Participate at industry trade shows and coordinate marketing activities
- 30-40% travel; primarily in the USA, Canada, Mexico and occasionally to Germany and Sweden as required
- Work with the aftermarket business group for replacements and retrofit opportunities
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering related discipline
- 5 years of relevant Product Management, Application Engineering and/or Sales experience in Power Transmission Industry is required
- Experience in sales of high dollar value capital equipment or components (esp. in drivelines for torque transmission, such as universal drive shafts, geared spindles & couplings, bearings and workrolls located in metals processing, cement, paper and various industries)
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain successful working relationships within the company, with the group team, and with customers
- Ability to multi-task based on business needs
- Excellent time management skills and good written communication skills required.
- Ability to work from home and/or office (good internet & cell phone service) required
