Industry Segment: Consumer Products
We are working with a world class Kitchenware / Home Goods manufacturer to find an experienced Industrial Designer with a background in bringing new products to life. The person in this role will be responsible for the product development lifecycle, from concept through to production.
We are seeking a creative person with a passion for driving new products from start to finish. This person will contribute directly to the visual voice and legacy of a century-old company. Industrial design projects will primarily include cookware at all retail levels and demographics with additional opportunities to work on cutlery, home goods, tools, and furniture.
Location: Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
- Develop compelling new design concepts for traditional kitchen and home good products.
- Aid with manufacturing decisions.
- Bring products to market under dynamic timelines.
- Drive the creative direction of new products and work collaboratively with a full-service graphic design and packaging team to deliver those products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent.
- Must have 5-8 years of industrial design experience on consumer products.
- Strong sketching skills.
- Must have CAD experience with complex surfacing. SolidWorks is preferred, but not a necessity.
- Working knowledge of various manufacturing methods and materials (i.e. injection molding, casting, stamping, metal fabrication and finishing) is a plus.
- Must have a portfolio showcasing products conceptualized, designed and developed.
- Experience bringing final product from the sketchbook to the store shelf.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willing and able to work towards deadlines.
