Sr. Operations Manager
Industry Segment: Building Fabrication
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a world leader in the manufacturing of specialty construction products. This position reports to the company COO and is responsible for daily oversight of all facility production operations to meet schedules and performance goals. Located just north of the DFW area in Texas, this is a tremendous career opportunity for someone who has experience leading production in a fabrication environment.
Location: Dallas / Fort Worth, TX
Responsibilities:
- General oversight of the Manufacturing Operations Team and for the delivery of operational metrics, supporting customer service targets, and proactively maintaining a high level of safety in all areas.
- Work with sr. leaders in developing/maintaining manufacturing operations business plans to meet customer requirements, resource needs, production costs etc.
- Ensure delivery of KPIs including day to day service levels, customer experience, quality measures and monitoring of throughput.
- Improve/collaborate on operations; including but not limited to safety, productivity, quality, and process engineering utilizing tools such as 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen evaluations.
- Motivate and effectively manage Team Managers (Managers, Supervisors, Group Leaders) to ensure delivery of overall targets and customer satisfaction.
- Provide motivation, guidance, and support to a workforce of 80 production personnel.
- Accountable for safety, compliance, throughput, quality, continuous improvement, production, and cost management of facility production.
- Continuous improvement and efforts to reduce expenses and increase productivity.
- Procurement and use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to meet project and production goals.
Qualifications:
- S. degree relevant to manufacturing operations or significant experience overseeing manufacturing operations with extensive fabrication processes.
- 10+ years of experience overseeing fabrication operations in support of construction projects.
- 5+ years of operational leadership experience.
- An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
- Knowledge of welding operations and other fabrication processes.
- Understanding of Forecasting, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, and Materials Management.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement or similar programs.
- Knowledge of AISC and AWS standards is desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of developing staff members.
- Merger/Acquisition/Start up experience is a plus.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
